Dr Taha Akhtar is a graduate of The Aga Khan University Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. Her initial post graduate training began in USA where she did Internship in Internal Medicine from North Western University, Illinois and Residency from Wake Forest University, North Carolina. She got the opportunity to work in prestigious hospitals including Evanston Hospital and North Carolina Baptist Medical Center. She is a diplomate of American Board of Internal Medicine. She then moved to United Kingdom where she continued her training in General Medicine and Rheumatology as a specialist registrar of West of Scotland training scheme. She has MRCP(UK) in Medicine and Rheumatology and has a Certificate of Completion of training from UK. She was a Consultant Rheumatologist in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in UK before coming to Pakistan. At present she is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad.
